Steve's last day as Deacon at St Peter's
Just over nine years ago I asked you to accept me as your Deacon and Southerner. In this you have always been so welcoming and I have many good memories of enriching liturgies, sharing of sacraments, home/hospital visits, scripture study, Alpha and CaFE, Lourdes and of course parties. The time is now right for me to return home and develop other areas, one of which is to set up holiday cottages with a spiritual element … perhaps that should be Holyday cottages! Today after the 10.00am Mass there will be a short tree planting ceremony in the church garden as my gift to the parish. I hope you will be able to come, especially the young on whose actions the future of the parish lies. The trees will be under planted with snowdrops in memories of times together and I hope all present will be able to plant a few each. There are three trees so should that be ‘Trinity’ of trees, or a ‘Grove’? 'Pace e Bene'. Steve
